We can make a difference, as 'Every conversation matters' for National Child Protection Week

From September 1-7 is National Child Protection Week (NCPW), championing the message ‘Every child in every community needs a fair go’ with this year’s theme ‘Every conversation matters.’

Dating back to the first campaign launched in 1990, NCPW helps Australians to recognise raising awareness around child safety, focus on the existing supportive systems in place for families and children, and highlight the need for equitable resources that will help all children to thrive.

The 2024 theme ‘Every conversation matters’ draws emphasis on the important role that we play in promoting and protecting the safety and wellbeing of children and young people. Any opportunity that you have in speaking out against child abuse, or allowing the space for children to be heard, can impact a positive change in their lives.

CatholicCare Sydney’s commitment in achieving child safety and positive wellbeing is outlined as an organisational goal in our new strategic plan, ‘Deepening our impact in child inclusive and family centered practice’. Our services that work with children and young people are modelled around child inclusive practice and improved child wellbeing and safety outcomes, helping to highlight our organisation’s capability and commitment to them.
